When floodwater gets inside your home, removing the water is only the first step. What comes next is the rebuild: cutting out damaged drywall, replacing ruined flooring and baseboards, and putting the rooms back together properly. That rebuild is what Florida GC Group LLC does.
We are a licensed Florida general contractor (Lic. #RG291104194) based in Port St. Lucie, serving Port St. Lucie, Fort Pierce, Jensen Beach, Stuart and Palm City. If water entered your home during the recent flooding, we start with a free flood-damage assessment: a walkthrough of the affected areas, photos and written documentation, a recommended repair scope, and a preliminary itemized estimate you can keep for your records or share with your insurer.
For fire damage and broader storm losses, see our Insurance Restoration services.
How flood repair works – the honest sequence
1. Extraction and dry-out first. Standing water removal and structural drying are done by mitigation (dry-out) companies. That step has to happen, and finish, before walls are closed. If you still have standing water, start there.
2. Verified drying. Rebuild begins only after moisture-meter readings confirm the structure is dry. Closing wet walls invites bigger problems later.
3. The rebuild – that’s us. Damaged drywall is cut out and replaced, insulation swapped where it was removed, flooring and baseboards replaced, trim and doors repaired or replaced, and rooms repainted. We pull our own permits for the work we perform.
4. Documentation throughout. Our assessment photos and itemized estimate give you a clean paper trail – for your insurer, for the City of Port St. Lucie’s SHIP program, or simply for your own records.

What it costs – and who can help pay
Every flood job is different, which is why our assessment and itemized estimate are free. For general national cost ranges, see our Flood Damage Repair Cost guide. If you are in Port St. Lucie, also see Paying for Flood Repairs – the City has opened $1 million in SHIP disaster-relief funds, up to $25,000 per eligible homeowner, and the work must be city-approved before it begins.

FAQ
Q: Do you remove standing water or dry out homes?
A: No – extraction and structural drying are mitigation work, done by dry-out companies. We do the repair and reconstruction that comes after. If your home is already dried out (or your mitigation company has finished), we are your next call.
Q: How soon can you start?
A: Once drying is verified, we schedule assessments by neighborhood so we can see several homes in an affected area on the same trip. Call (561) 255-4908 and we will give you a straight answer on timing.
Q: Will you work with my insurance company?
A: We provide photos and an itemized estimate you can share with your insurer, and we will answer your adjuster’s questions about our scope. We do not handle, negotiate or guarantee claims – coverage decisions are the insurer’s.
Q: I found mold. Can you remove it?
A: No. Mold assessment and remediation are separately licensed in Florida, and we are not licensed for that work. If mold is present, it has to be handled by a licensed mold professional before rebuild work in that area.
Q: Do I need a permit for flood repairs?
A: Many flood repairs do require permits, and we pull our own permits for the work we perform. Be cautious with any contractor who asks you to pull the permit in your name.
Q: What does the free assessment include?
A: A visual inspection of affected areas, drywall/flooring/baseboard review, photos and written documentation, a recommended repair scope, and a preliminary itemized estimate. The assessment is visual and limited to accessible areas; it is not a mold inspection or an engineering evaluation.
