Floors are usually the first casualty of water in the house
Laminate swells at the seams. Vinyl can trap moisture underneath. Hardwood cups and crowns. Even tile floors can hide a soaked subfloor. After the structure is dry, most water-damaged flooring has to come out – and replacing it correctly (including what is underneath) is the difference between a repair that lasts and one that fails in a year. Florida GC Group LLC (Lic. #RG291104194) replaces water-damaged flooring across Port St. Lucie, Fort Pierce, Jensen Beach, Stuart and Palm City.
What we do
- Remove and dispose of water-ruined flooring and underlayment.
- Inspect and repair the subfloor: replace soft or delaminated sections so the new floor sits on a sound base (subfloor damage is the hidden cost in many flood jobs).
- Verify the slab or subfloor is dry before installation – new flooring over a wet base is a failure waiting to happen.
- Install replacement flooring: laminate, luxury vinyl plank, hardwood, or tile, with transitions and baseboards finished (see Baseboard, Trim & Interior Finishing).
- Match existing flooring where the same product is available, or help you choose a replacement for the affected rooms.
Honest notes
- Some flooring can survive minor water exposure; some cannot. Our free assessment tells you which – with photos you can use for your insurer or the SHIP program.
- We do not dry out structures or extract water; drying must be complete first. Flood job? Start at Flood Damage Repair & Reconstruction. Cost questions? Flood Damage Repair Cost
